Winter Clothing Distribution

We encourage religious communities to collect winter clothing and winter outerwear all year long. Every October, the CRC organizes a large distribution of the items. In 2021, we distributed over 1300 winter coats, along with countless items of winter clothing, to 270+ families and in our community. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

The Common Fund

The Common Fund is financial assistance program that was created by CRC as a means of providing emergency assistance to those facing crisis situations. CommUnity (formerly the Crisis Center) administers the Common Fund through its Basic Needs Program that helps specifically with housing and utilities.

In 2021, CRC member organizations contributed over $40,000 to CommUnity through the Common Fund.

Donations to the Common Fund can be given through your local religious community or by direct mail. Checks should be made out to the CommUnity, with "Common Fund" on the memo line. Send donations directly to CommUnity, 1121 S. Gilbert Ct., Iowa City, IA  52240.
